At Douchebags we have one goal – to redefine all aspects of travel gear. Superior product development is the foundation of our company and we are now looking for a hungry Lead Design Technician who will join our team of strong visionaries and creators.

Db Equipment AS (DouchebagsTM / DbTM / douchebags.com) is a Scandinavian company that has established itself as a globally recognized brand within the travel gear industry. Since its launch in January 2012, the company has built a worldwide distribution network, both online and offline. The company is an agile start-up in all aspects of operation and is driven by a young tight-knit core team of passionate and ambitious creators.

As our Lead Design Technician, you will be the hub of all communication in product development processes. You will be responsible for planning and following up the development timelines from brief, throughout sampling, to finished product. This includes assisting in the development and design of new travel gear as well as overall responsibility for the implementation of new colors, fabrics and trims. You will be responsible for the “master spec document” for all product and all cost break down's and BOMs during the development process, making sure all products are made according to our specifications and meet our price targets. As our Lead Design Technician, you will be working closely with our suppliers and factories in the far east, as well as partner with our Sourcing & Quality Assurance Agent to ensure the quality and timely delivery of all productions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating all product development processes and timelines
  • Responsible for the Product Master Document, cost break down and BOM
  • Responsible for following up QC

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (Product Technician, Product Specialist, Garment Technician, Design engineer, etc.)
  • Working experience with factories in the far east
  • Excellent communication skills (English)
  • Skilled in relevant software
  • Located in, or ability to relocate to Oslo
  • Ability to do various design work
